Considered one of the oldest universities in Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada has become the role model and pioneer of higher education in Indonesia since its founding in 1949. UGM shows a remarkable achievement by being considered as one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia, becoming number one university in Indonesia in academic reputation and being placed in the rank #239 of QS 2025.
Teaching and Research
UGM has 18 faculties, 2 schools, 287 study programs, 125 joint/double degrees, and 22 research centers spread all across the campus. The study programs offered by UGM range from undergraduate, graduate, professional, specialist, to diploma degrees, which are equipped with professional teaching staff with outstanding educational and research backgrounds.

UGM alumni also shine in leadership roles in Indonesia and around the world, including but not limited to legislative and executive members of the Republic of Indonesia, governors, mayors and head of regencies, CEOs, and NGO presidents.
