Bank Account

Students may create local bank accounts during their study in UGM, with several local bank branches actually located within the campus for easier access. Some popular local bank choices for UGM international students include Bank Negara Indonesia (popularly known as BNI) and Bank Mandiri.

How to Create A Bank Account

  1. Fill the request form on this link: ugm.id/LetterRequest. In the Type of Sponsor Letter section, choose “Bank Account”.
  2. The sponsor letter will be available in 3 to 5 working days after the request has been received. For example, if you submit the form on Monday, the letter will be available on Thursday.
  3. Go to the OIA to collect the letter.
  4. Bring the sponsor letter, ITAS, passport, and other relevant documents to your selected bank to create the bank account.
  5. Inform the bank that you want to create a bank account. The bank staff will assist you throughout the process.
