Bank Account

Students may create local bank accounts during their study in UGM, with several local bank branches actually located within the campus for easier access. Some popular local bank choices for UGM international students include Bank Negara Indonesia (popularly known as BNI) and Bank Mandiri.

How to Create A Bank Account

  1. Send an email to the Office of International Affairs UGM to itas.oia@ugm.ac.id to request a sponsor letter for creating a bank account.
  2. The sponsor letter will be available in 3 to 5 working days after the request has been received. Go to the OIA to pick up the letter.
  3. Bring the sponsor letter, ITAS, passport, and other relevant documents to your selected bank to create the bank account.
  4. Inform the bank that you want to create a bank account. The bank staff will assist you throughout the process.
